Sony is working on the adaptation of Valiant Comics’, along with the want list of actors to take the lead includes Oscar Isaac, James McAvoy, Jake Gyllenhaal, Nicholas Hoult, along with Mark Wahlberg. Adapting written works to the huge screen isn’t a new thing, but in recent years that the movie market has gone through a flourish of adaptations, particularly comic books — whether they’re superheroes or maybe not. The big names in this game are, unquestionably, Marvel Studios and Warner with its DC Extended Universe, but there are other studios which had also donated.
A few examples are Fox with all the X-Men and Great Four that, although a Marvel home, aren’t part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe; Lionsgate with Kick-Ass, Miramax together with Sin City, and (of course) Sony with Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy and also Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man. A currently Sony is getting ready to start a possible Valiant Universe, beginning with Bloodshot.
According to , the studio already has a Brief list of actors to potentially star as Bloodshot. But being on the list doesn’t necessarily imply “being in talks to star”– it’s merely a wish list. Three out of five of those actors on the list have already had a part in a different comic book world (and funny enough all at exactly the same): Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse, James McAvoy as Professor X, along with Nicholas Hoult as Beast from the X-Men prequels.
Bloodshot was made in 1992 by Kevin VanHook and Yvel Guichet, and follows a former soldier brought back from the dead and infused with nanotechnology, that gives him powers of regeneration and meta-morphing. All five actors on the list are not any strangers to science and fantasy fiction, and so are all capable of carrying a role as complex as Bloodshot, but as much as some might agree with those choices, let’s not forget that the listing can change and Sony may opt for a younger or older option, based on its requirements.
